After five years at her eponymous restaurant at the Connaught, Veuve Clicquot World’s Best Female Chef Hélène Darroze introduced a playful approach to her new menu, which focused on her and her family’s longstanding relationships with suppliers, gathered during the four generations of Darroze chefs. On arrival, guests were presented with a unique mahogany solitaire board with twelve white marbles, each labelled with a specific product from one of her suppliers. Guests created their menu by placing their favourite ingredients on the board to create a bespoke menu, creating an ‘Instagram-able’ menu moment.
To launch the menu, the restaurant was transformed into a traditional French marketplace for one evening, with each supplier taking a stall and offering a unique insight into the story behind each ingredient as well as the opportunity for guests to taste their produce.
