Husband and wife team Greg and Marie Marchand, opened Frenchie in Covent Garden. Their first site outside Paris, the restaurant is already proving to be one of the hottest openings of the year. Chef Greg opened the original Frenchie in a tiny alleyway in the garment district of Paris. With help from friends and family, he took a chance on the small site and designed and built the space himself, all while Marie was pregnant with their first child. Within weeks, the prix-fixe restaurant was fully booked and highly acclaimed by the Parisian and international critics.

The menu at Frenchie Covent Garden echoes its Parisian sister-site, with simple, generous, yet precise dishes heavily influenced by Greg’s own travels. It references his earlier career experiences in kitchens across the world, from Gramercy Tavern in New York to beach bars in Spain, always underpinned by his classical French training, growing up in Nantes. He considers London his second home, having spent several long periods in the capital, cooking at the Mandarin Oriental, The Savoy Grill and Electric House, before joining Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen, where the kitchen nickname ‘Frenchie’ stuck.
